Educational Advocate -VS- Parent Member
Educational Advocate
The Educational Advocate act as a liaison between families and school district staff. The advocate helps resolve disagreements and facilitating a collaborative working relationship needed to negotiate services for the child.
DOE- Parent Member
The Parent Member represent the community of parents of students with disabilities at IEP meetings. They bring another perspective as a parent of a child with a disability to the IEP meeting. The Parent Member is a part of the DOE IEP team.
